Just a quick note to say that we're having an ace time in Beijing - lots of walking yesterday around T Sq., Beihai Park and Zara. We had Thai for dinner at Banana Leaf, a restaurant Anna and I loved when we went in Kunming over Spring Festival.
Today, we tackled the Great Wall, every inch of which lives up to its name. My Darling Sister and I made it from Tower 6 (the top of the chairlift) to Tower 23, the end of the open section at Mutianyu! Dad also surpassed everyone's expectations by making it as far as Tower 14 - the Coca Cola stall! We came back down on tobbogans too - video to follow soon!
After climbing the wall, the Fam made their first foray into Chinese food with lunch at Mr Yang's restaurant. Fortunately, they liked it! This bodes well for eating on campus - based on Dad's rave review of Gong Bao Ji Ding (chicken & veg), I think they'll all like it.
Tomorrow we're planning on flying kites in T Sq. early on, seeing the Summer Palace during the day and taking in an acrobatics show in the evening.
Loving it,
X
