Gramps, the only Merc I knew (and am sure you can get in the UK) was a Vito. We were given a demonstration in a black Range Rover Sport - absolutely the highlight - and Anna's blog on the experience, with photos, is here.

Last weekend, we went to the 3rd Zhengzhou International Auto Exhibition, or something with a similarly long-winded title. It was, unsurprisingly, rather hit and miss but had an interesting mix of Jaguars, Lambos, Mercedes and plastic Chinese cars (including knock-off Hackney Carriages by a company called 'The Englon Taxi Company'). At the very least, it was an interesting insight into how China's newly rich (getting richer) are spending their yuan and how China's less rich (probably not getting richer) are donning short skirts and awfully cheap ballgowns, whitening their skin and draping themselves across the cars - an interesting marketing ploy: not all too dissimilar from marketing back home, just seedier as hordes of men take photos of the models but go to great lengths (all but getting up on the podium) to avoid ruining their photo of the scantily clad girl by accidentally getting the car in the shot too.
