I've just seen news footage of the floods in southern China - it's terrible, but don't worry, I'm safe. Unless the the water got really, really high... like tsunami high... I'd be safe because I'm currently in our suite on the 14th floor of the Star Lake hotel in Zhaoqing. That's right, SUITE. So please don't worry...
We're having a fabulous time in Guangdong, having visited temples in Feilai and Feixia only accessible by river, and the watchtowers near Kaiping built in the 1920s by Chinese workers returning from overseas.
Tomorrow, if we can bring ourselves to leave the suite, we're taking a ferry to Hong Kong.
This is our last night in (mainland) China :(
